Vanessa Jones-Nyoni has 30 years of experience in financial services and currently serves as the Chief Data Officer (CDO) North America at Commerzbank. Before assuming the CDO role in 2022, she was the Americas Head of Commerzbank IT Governance for nine years. Prior to joining Commerzbank, she worked at Deutsche Bank as a program management consultant in the Investment Banking Division. Her career began at Credit Suisse, where she spent 16 years in various IT roles supporting business functions such as Treasury, Tax, Operations, and Finance. Vanessa holds an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Virginia and a B.A. in Mathematics from Minnesota State University, Moorhead. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and volunteering in her local community.
Being part of the WDP leadership team is both an honor and a privilege for Vanessa. It provides an opportunity to create connections, empower women in the data field, and celebrate their contributions. Through this role, she advocates for meaningful change and collaborates with fellow leaders to foster an inclusive and supportive community, ensuring that women in data are recognized and valued.
