Marla Dans

Marla A. Dans is a seasoned Chief Data Officer in the Financial Services industry, spanning Buy-Side, Sell-Side, and FinTech, most recently as Head of Data Management & Governance for Chicago Trading Company. She launched a Chief Data Office for Tradeweb, consulted for financial services and healthcare, held strategic roles at JPMorgan Asset Management, and two decades with Morgan Stanley.

The Chief Data Office programs she establishes are highly aligned with data enablement and competitive advantage in capital markets and investment management, unlocking significant value, and transforming data into a trusted and key revenue-generating asset, improving spend management and balancing regulatory compliance objectives. Her expertise integrates strategic vision with hands-on execution across business lines, data, technology, compliance and risk management.

An active member of the Enterprise Data Management Council, Marla is a co-founder of the Global Women Data Professionals Forum, chaired the Knowledge Graph Working Group, and contributed to the Cloud Data Management Capability Review Committee, Asset Management Special Interest Group, and DCAM v3. A frequent industry speaker and co-author, her book on Data Analytics & Digital Transformation was published by Routledge UK in December 2023 and she is currently conducting a Manchester University, UK, research study on Responsible AI Governance.
