Forum Mission and Alignment

The EDMA AI Governance Working Group (the AIG Working Group) is dedicated to ensuring that AI is built on a foundation of trust and accountability by creating common definitions, identifying linkages to existing practices, and aligning to established frameworks. The group brings together leading financial institutions, technology providers, and data governance experts across the EDM Association community.

The forum aims to:

  • Define a clear, shared understanding of “AI Governance” (AIG) and how it is applied across regulated and enterprise environments.
  • Clarify the critical connection between AI Governance and data management, highlighting how strong data foundations enable responsible AI outcomes.
  • Identify and promote key data management practices required to deliver reliable, transparent, and accountable AI systems.
  • Leverage DCAM assessments and EDM Association frameworks to strengthen AI readiness, governance maturity, and organisational resilience.

The AIG Working Group meets bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 08:00 EST / 13:00 GMT / 17:00 UAE.
