Forum Mission and Alignment

FIBO has been a great product for more than a decade, and now the opportunities – and demands – of AI are inspiring a new wave of interest in FIBO, as the premier ontology for the financial sector. The FIBO Forum is established to enable financial institutions, vendors, and other stakeholders to understand and use FIBO to secure and enhance their data, analytics and decisions. FIBO Forum members will be able to collaborate, exchange insights, and address the emerging challenges of using FIBO – and ontologies generally.

The Forum aims to:

  • • Provide practical, member-led learning opportunities about all aspects of FIBO acquisition, deployment and usage both for applications including artificial intelligence, analytics, and governance.
  • • Be a venue for information about data products, training, platforms, and methods that will facilitate the exploration of FIBO and decision making about whether, when, and how to use it, including how to incorporate it into an organization's DCAM journey.
  • • Leverage EDM Association experience, research, and global resources, and engage members to improve FIBO and FIBO related content and services.
